The following events and activities are planned for the 2013 Catholic Schools Week:
Sun., Jan. 27: Mass celebrating Catholic schools with alumni serving as lectors, cantors and servers. Activities for students, parents and grandparents in classrooms. Band and orchestra will perform.
Mon., Jan. 28: Volunteer appreciation day. Parents will receive an email with a prayer of thanksgiving about volunteering.
Tues., Jan. 29: Students will wear appropriate pajamas for Student Appreciation Day and will be treated to donuts in the morning.
Wed., Jan. 30: Free dress for teachers and faculty and Home and School Association will provide a special lunch for Teacher/Faculty Appreciation Day.
Thurs., Jan. 31 and Fri., Feb. 1: Classes will make “Thank you” posters for various orders and seminaries around the Dallas-Fort Worth area for Priest/Vocation Appreciation Days. Student Council will create ‘Thank you’ posters for each priest visiting Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.
Mon., Jan. 28: Raising the Standard in our Alumni: Bishop Dunne faculty basketball games vs. faculty of St. Cecilia and St. Elizabeth of Hungary, beginning at 7 p.m.
Tues., Jan. 29: Raising the Standard in Academics
Wed.; Jan. 30: Raising the Standard in Faith: Parents and grandparents are invited to all-school Mass at 9:30 a.m.
Thurs., Jan. 31: Raising the Standard in Students: Display in front office student medals, trophies and accomplishments.
Fri., Feb. 1: Raising the Standard in Teachers: Family Feud Game between students and faculty at 2:15 p.m.
Tues., Jan. 29: Celebrating our Parents: Parents receive coffee, juice and muffins at drop-off.
Wed., Jan. 30: Celebrating our Faculty and Staff with breakfast served by students.
Thurs., Jan. 31: Celebrating our Students with shaved ice and cupcakes during lunch. Students may wear class T-shirts with their uniform.
Fri., Feb. 1: Celebrating our Standards: Students and faculty may wear Black & White Ball T-shirts as well as masquerade masks. Half-day and pep rally schedule.
Sat., Feb. 2: Celebrating our Standards: Inaugural Black &White Ball will be held on campus at 8 p.m.

Sun., Jan. 27: Thank you letters to parishioners will be included in bulletin. Student speakers at Mass.
Mon., Jan. 28: Honor staff day. Student council will distribute coffee and pastries to honor school staff. Pre-K and first grade student/parent lunches. First grade state presentations.
Tues., Jan. 29: Honor future families day. Open house for prospective families. Student council will act as ambassadors. Second and third grade student/parent lunch. Lunch buffet for teachers.
Wed., Jan. 30: Honor parents day. Student council will distribute “Why I Love CKS” hearts with candies to parents. Thank you notes from students to parents will be sent home. Fourth and fifth grader student/parent lunches. Science fair for fourth and fifth grade follows lunch. Third grade talent show.
Thurs., Jan. 31: Honor students day. Spirit day and homework free day. Middle school student/parent lunch. Science fair for middle school. Field day in afternoon.
Fri., Feb. 1: Honor Monsignor and Deacon Tim day. Presentation of banner/gift to Monsignor and Deacon Tim. Pep rally for academic competition. Faculty/eighth grade basketball game. Early release.
Sunday, Jan. 27: Raise the Standards: In Our Parish: Catholic Schools Week celebration begins with 11 a.m. Mass with school children in uniforms serving as altar servers and lectors, and the school choir will sing. Food after all Masses.
Mon., Jan. 28: Raise the Standards: In Our Community: Students will participate in various service projects and doing random acts of kindness throughout the week. Students will write letters to those in the military service. Book Fair in the gym after school.
Tues., Jan. 29: Raise the Standards: In Our Volunteers: Teachers will provide a treat to all school parents for Volunteer Appreciation Day. A Mass for the intentions of all our volunteers. New Family Open House at 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Book Fair.
Wed., Jan. 30: Raise the Standards: In Our Students: School Spirit activity in the gym after prayer. “Wacky Backwards Dress Day” and no homework. Air Band talent show in the afternoon. Book Fair in the gym after school.
Thurs., Jan. 31: Raise the Standards: In Our Vocations: Speakers will talk about lay and religious vocations. Parent-Teacher Organization meeting and Open House at 6:30 p.m. for all school families. Book Fair in the gym during the Open House.
Fri., Feb. 1: Raise the Standards: In Our Faculty & Staff: First Friday Mass and Benediction at 8 a.m. Eighth graders will present the annual “Recycling Fashion Show” at 10:30 a.m. Dismissal at noon.
Sat., Jan. 26 and Sun., Jan. 27: Students will attend Mass; classes will sing at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday Masses.
Mon., Jan 28: Celebrate our School: Students will attend the Ancient Greeks and Romans Presentation by the 6th Grade and explore the history of the school.
Tues., Jan 29: Celebrate our Community: Firefighters honored with cards and treats. Students will deliver cards, snacks and small gifts to nursing home residents. Career Day. Science Fair exhibit and judging.
