On Nov. 19, St. Monica Catholic School participated in the 10th annual “Spreading Good Cheer” fundraiser and performance exhibition at Bishop Dunne Catholic School. Spreading Good Cheer invited cheerleaders and dance teams within the Dallas Parochial League to collect peanut butter and monetary donations to support the Catholic Charities of Dallas food pantry. The St. Monica cheer team, led by Coach Christine Elias, took home the trophy in the large-school category for collecting the most donations with a grand total of 1,002 jars of peanut butter and $7,326.87 in contributions. According to Spreading Good Cheer founder, Joyce Limber, more than $20,000 was raised by all schools combined, which is enough to feed five families for an entire year.
